Spinnaker made easy

Do you hesitate to fly the spinnaker because of strong wind, crew ability, or your personal concerns? Would you like everybody on the team to be working together?
I have witnessed a lot of misunderstanding about flying the spinnaker. Many have incomplete information or are using methods at the wrong time.
You can learn how to gain more power from the spinnaker in light air, and how to decrease the power when necessary. Your crew needs to have common understanding in order to work together.
I can help. As foredeck and pit crew on sailboats from 22 feet to 40 feet, I have many years of learning and experience working with the spinnaker. I have been in enough scary situations to know what not to do.
I can offer you assistance in the following areas:
Making sure your lines and hardware are adequate for the job.
Race crew choreography.
The methods and pitfalls of the hoist, the jibe, and the douse.
Trimming for speed, power and control.
With understanding of the concepts, and practice you can have the confidence you need to fly the spinnaker.

"You did a great job mentoring those sent forward to be your back-up; it was clear to all that you relished your teaching role,
and you were good at it. All of your backups on the foredeck were better crew for your mentoring." P. English
